TOEF-ibt のタスク別テンプレートと戦略 -スピーキング-

4/12の試験を終えてカナダから続いていたTOEFLの勉強が一段落したので,SPEAKINGのテンプレートと戦略を書き起こした.

General matters FOR TASK 1&2

slow down, never rush.
make sure of What I do in the preparation time
don't have to listen whole announcement of the question because I know what the questions are.
When I choose my opinion, never try to be creative. The winner of the TOEFL is the person who doesn't hesitate to adapt ordinary idea.
Choose what I can answer properly and steadily. don't choose topic that I can't compose clear structure.
Once I come up with one idea, I should immediately make example(most cases, it is make-up self experience).

TASK ONE

template

introduction:
There are many blah-blah-blah that blah-blah-blah. However, There is one blah that blah-blah-blah which is blah.
body:
The reason is that blah blah blah. For example blah blah blah.
conclusion(only I couldn't make enough length of response in body part.)
In, conclusion, there are many reasons to blah, my number one reason for wanting blah is that blah blah blah.

tips

Of course emergency reasons and useful phrases for example is helpful in this task.
"I recently watched fascinating TV program on discovery channel."
"My uncle Taro said that blah blah blah."
develop human-relationship(change my life through encounter with people)
helpful/harmful for my health/our welfare
made/save money/time
further my education
DUMP THE SECOND:
When I read passage, concentrate on the first paragraph and don't have to read following paragraph. It is completely worthless.

TASK TWO

template

Introduction
Many people are of the opinion that blah-blah-blah is better. In my opinion, however, blah-blah-blah is the better choice.
body
The reason is that blah-blah-blah. For instance, blah-blah-blah.
conclusion(only I couldn't make enough length of response in body part.)
In conclusion, In general(on the whole) I prefer to blah-blah-blah.

tips

the same tips as task 1 is applicable to this task.

GENERAL MATTERS FOR TASK 3&4

It is desirable to emphasize the important part of memo with point certain signals.
In preparation time, I have to draw the circles around important memo. Specifically, they are topic, first point and second point. If I have enough time, I should check what the example is.

TASK 3

Template

According to the reading,. The man and woman are talking about . and the man/woman complains about/agree with this blah.
The first reason is that . To support his opinion, he/she says that.
The second reason is that. He/She continues by noting that.

Tips

most cases, main topic of the reading appears first sentence of the passage.
take as many memos as I can. In the response, all I have to do is rephrase or paraphrase my memo.

TASK FOUR

general information

In most cases, reading shows general subject of a phenomenon or idea. And lecture focuses on(concentrate on) specific example of the phenomenon or idea.
It is important to state clearly about difference/similarity of the two examples.
In this task, template is less effective comparing to other tasks. So, be sensitive to the logical structure of the response.
Also, relationship between passage and lecture is very important in this task. most cases, it is general and specific

Template

caution: in this task, template doesn't work as independent task and task3. The template below is just an example. When I response, be careful to the given question and make correct answer that much request of the question.
Both sources discuss certain aspect of

. The reading focuses on this subject in general terms while the lecture concentrates on specific details.
First, .The lecturer says that .
In addition . The lecturer explains that.

Tips

CONVENIENT CONCLUSION: Lecture often contains conclusion. If I succeed to listen conclusion successfully, I can resound shortly. If time remains more than 5 minutes, I can recite the conclusion sentence. Usually, it is not so long.
COMPARATIVE: When I mention a research, I am often required to use the comparative. It is helpful for me to go over

TASK5

template

The man/woman has an issue with(faces problem that )
His/Her companion suggests that. She supported her suggestion saying that.
Next, his/her companion proposes(recommends) that. He/She continued with noting that.
I think that he/she should. If he/she , he/she can (earn benefit by). (or If I were companion of him/her, I would recommend that blah-blah-blah)
on the other hands, forces him/her to (Opposite suggestion makes him/her).

tips

Negative result of another choice is not vital.
be conscious to the structure of the memo. topic, first solution, second solution.
I don't have to respond in a time series order. Instead, I should respond from important information.

TASK6

template

The speaker discusses certain aspect(advantage/disadvantage) of

.
First, the speaker argues that. To support his point of view, he says that .
The speaker then suggest that . He continues by noting that .

tips

this task has almost the same structure as task4. Especially, body part of this paragraph is completely the same.
